NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A 22-year-old New Smyrna Beach man was arrested this afternoon on a warrant charging him with attempted murder in the near-fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man two days ago in the 500 block of Washington Avenue during a heated argument over a woman, police said.

EDGEWATER -- The Edgewater Fire Rescue will conduct a live fire training exercise at a property located between North Old County Road and Pearl Street.

Set up for the training will begin at 8 a.m. Two abandoned buildings on the site will be burned beginning at 10:30 a.m. The second structure will begin to be burned at 1 p.m.

DAYTONA BEACH -- There were three-motorcycle-related deaths during Bike Week 2011, which ended today.

There were seven biker-related deaths last year. Still, the 10 fatalities collectively from the last two Bike week pale in comparison to the carnage of 2006, when there were 19 deaths.
