NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -- For the second year in a row, New Smyrna Beach Police Motor Officer Josh Holloway earned top honors at the annual Space Coast Motorcycle Rodeo the weekend of Oct. 11 in Melbourne.
Holloway walked away with several awards including “Mr. Rodeo” – the top rider award.
The New Smyrna Beach motors cop's riding achievements skill comes in at No. 73 in the HeadlineSurfer.com countdown of the top 100 local stories of 2014.
The event features police motor officers from all over the county. The challenging course tests rider skills during individual and team events.
In addition to the top honors, Holloway and Motor Officer Jason Reve also scored first place in each of the following: Individual and Challenge Ride. Holloway also finished in second place in Slow Ride.
Then-Acting Police Chief Donna Lavallee was ecstatic with the cops' overall showing. “Competitions like these showcase the abilities of our riders, while building upon their personal training and riding talent,” Lavallee said.
