"The child darted from the east side into the path of the vehicle," Beach Patrol spokesman Tammy Marris said of the 1:26 p.m. accident, explaining the girl was running from the water's edge. OAK HILL -- The weekly Observer newspaper wrote a story about the changing of the police guard in Oak Hill. Problem is, the Observer wasn't at Monday's special meeting and hasn't been for weeks.

The Observer used facts eerily similar to what NSBNews.net had reported such as the policing being taken over by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office at 7:15 p.m. and Commissioner Dough Gibson collecting guns, ammo and keys from embattled Police Chief Diane Young and the other officers.

Question: Do you think Casey Anthony got away with murder in the death of her little girl, Caylee Anthony?

Briana Schmidt"Yes, I think she did because how do you go a whole month without reporting that your kid is missing to the cops? And all that Zanny the nanny crap? Why did she have to lie? The whole thing is just crap."

Brianna Schmidt, 18, New Smyrna Beach, student at Daytona State College

Cortlin Smith"Oh yeah. She's had no emotions at all about the kid. She didn't want her; you could tell. All she cared about was going out and partying with her friends."

But Simpson will be there in the flesh for tonight's special meeting regarding alleged corruption in the police department.
