Exclusive video by Henry Frederick / Abilene Campuzano, 12, describes the horrific situation in which a large tree fell on her family's East Kentucky Avenue home in DeLand, splitting it in two and causing her mother, Maria, to briefly lose consciousness when a branch struck her head. The tree snap was the result of a fast-moving storm that blew across Central Florida Wednesday night.The map from the National Weather Service shows the storm moving into the Atlantic Ocean after racing across Central Florida and string the Volusia County area just after 5 p.m.

DELAND -- Stetson University professor Becky Oliphant and Gary Oliphant, also on the Stetson faculty, were in Japan on a week-long, business-study trip during spring break when they got caught up in the devastation of Friday's massive earthquake, prompting her to file an iReport with CNN.

DELAND -- Elijah Eckhardt, the 2-year-old boy resuscitated by paramedics after being pulled from his grandparents' pool last night by his 10-year-old brother died this morning at an Orlando hospital, a Volusia County Sheriff's spokesman said.

"Medical personnel were able to resuscitate Elijah, but he was on life support and in critical condition at the time he was airlifted Saturday night to Florida Hospital in Orlando," Sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson said. "He was pronounced dead at 10:46 a.m. Sunday morning at the hospital."
