DELAND -- The Volusia County Sheriff's Office's 100 Deputies/100 Kids Program, now in its 21st year will host over 250 economically disadvantaged children today at the Volusia County Agricultural Center on State Road 44 north of DeLand.
Off-duty deputy sheriffs will escort the families to the party, which will include pony rides, a spin in a Sheriff's Office Hummer, and the chance to climb all over real fire trucks. The children will have an extra surprise when Santa Claus arrives from the North Pole. Some outdoor activities will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the official party start time of 6:30 p.m.
