Funeral service for Jacquie Lou Simmons, age 64, of Edgewater, who died Monday, July 12, 2010 at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, Edgewater, will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 15 at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach Chapel, with Chaplain Beverly Richardson, officiating. Private burial will follow in Sea Pines Memorial Gardens.
Calling hours will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 14 at the funeral home. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Simmons, a homemaker, came to this area in 1997 from Maryland. She worked as a bus aide in Montgomery County, Maryland, had a large collection of Boyds Bears, enjoyed going on cruises and coffee with her friends.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Albert Thomas Simmons, Jr.; 4 sons, Tom and his wife Sara, of Frederick, Maryland, Jack C. and his wife Tracey, of West Virginia, Edward J, of Mt. Airy, Maryland, and Carl L. and his partner, Ken, of Palm Bay, Florida; 1 sister, Sharon Karasack and her husband Don, of Greensburg, Pennsylvania; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Lynn Simmons.
