Federal employees whining about pay freezes still better off than the rest of us struggling to make ends meet

I was reading and forgot to turn off the television when as usual something I heard got my goat. The news was on and they are reporting on the freeze in pay for federal employees. They showed a woman who asked the reporter “How are we going to make it?”

Well lady, try being disabled on Social Security fixed payments and getting no raises for several years.

We can’t work overtime to help make up difference nor can we get a second job. We do, however, have to pay the same prices as you do for the basics of living such as gas for the car, food, heat, lights, water, and everything else that has risen in price while our income has stayed the same.

The government has some convoluted way of trying to fool us into thinking there is no rise in the cost of living.

Evidently, whoever thought that up does not eat, drive a car, have indoor plumbing or electric or go to a doctor. Nor do they pay rent, insurances or taxes. They must be extremely healthy so they don't have to take any medications since all items I have mentioned as you well know have risen in cost.

My less than $1,000 a month has not.

I’d lay odds the lady complaining on the news about her frozen federal salary still gets far more than what I receive in my Social Security check.

So how is she going to make it?

Better than I am, I bet.
