(Courtesy photos). The Facebook profile for accused killer Christian Pursley has postings of photos of his wedding with estranged wife, Shannon Pursley, him holding a bloody carving knife. He's been charged with attempted murder of his wife and first-degree murder of her friend, Keith "Shorty" Roberts of South Daytona, who was shot to death New Year's at the Rockin' Ranch as the victim and Pursley's wife tried to get away as he opened fire, according to Ormond Beach police.

Editor's Note (added Jan. 6): A couple of friends who posted anonymously in the comment section below this story insist two of the Facebook photos are not as they appear on the surface -- that the one with the bloody knife was a Halloween costume and the cow in the photo further down was alive and being moved.

ORMOND BEACH -- In describing on his Facebook profile what he's interested in relationship wise, Christian Pursley answers: "women." In describing his relationship status, he answers: "It's complicated."

Life got a whole lot more complicated for the 37-year-old Ormond Beach man, who sits in jail on Ormond Beach police charges of first-degree murder in the New Year's shooting death of Keith "Shorty" Roberts at the Rockin' Ranch.

Christian Pursley and his wife, Shannon, presumably in happier times in this Facebook photo posted in May.

Pursley's alleged handgun-spraying of Roberts' pick-up truck as he tried to leave with the accused killer's estranged wife, Shannon Pursley, has netted him the additional charge of attempted murder for the shattered glass that cut her up from the gunfire at 2:30 a.m. outside the packed bar with revelers ringing in the new year.

The next step in the legal process occurred Sunday when VolusiaNews.Net exclusively reported a circuit judge ordered Pursley held without bond.

The next likely step is the convening of the Volusia County grand jury to consider handing up an indictment that could carry a penalty of death, if he's convicted at trial. Prosecutors could jump on the police allegations that Pursley went into the bar to confront his wife who was with Roberts and waited outside with a loaded handgun for them to come out and then blast away.

Cases like this are more complex than it sounds with "reasonable doubt" as to whether his actions were pre-meditated or spur of the moment, even with the weapon. There are a whole host of legal entanglements that prosecutors and defgense attorneys could battle over, such as temporary insanity and domestic-related defenses.

Whatever the case, nobody connected to this is talking. Chris Kelly, spokesman for the State Attorney's Office said Sunday it's premature to comment on the course of action.

So while Pursley waits in legal limbo for a pre-trial hearing and the appointment of legal representation and any attempt at bonding out of the Volusia County Branch Jail, there is information about Pursley on his Facebook page that could come into play as this criminal case moves forward. On the surface, some of the photos are disturbing.

There's a photo of a gutted deer under it, Parsley brags: "At 350 yard plus at dusk, good shot!"

Pursley posted a photo of a dead cow hogtied.

He tells a friend on that page with the cow carcass: "I DON'T CARE how big you think you are, you better bring your game!"

His friend responds: "wtf."
