Grade: A
Gov. Rick Scott appointed Jacksonville area State Attorney Angela Corey as special prosecutor to head the state's investigation into the Feb. 26 shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
The governor also announced that Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll will oversee a task force to study the merits of the "Stand Your Ground" law, which Sanford police cited as the reason George Zimmerman wasn't charged in the killing of the 17-year-old Miami boy.
Media and race baiting deplorable
Grade: F
The media’s reaction to the death of Trayvon Martin is deplorable. Rather than waiting for all the facts to come out, race-baiters Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton whipped the country into a frenzy about race rather than justice.
The reason “Justice” is shown with a blindfold, a sword and a scale is to insure that even-handed treatment for ALL is the norm, not an aberration. People need to settle down and wait for the police, the FBI and the Justice Department to finish their investigations. In the meantime, saying a few extra prayers for the Martin and Zimmerman families would be a good thing.
Obama cozies up to the Russians
Grade: D
During a recent visit with Dimitri Medvedev when he thought no one was listening, President Obama commented to the Russian President, “On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved but it’s important for him to give me space… This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.”
My idea of flexibility here is for Obama to be turned oiut of office in Novermber at the ballot box.
Will the Republican primary season ever be over?
Grade: C
The Republican nomination process seems to have been going on for months and … oh, wait. It has been going on that long. My pick for President was Herman Cain who presented bold ideas to set America on a path to prosperity. Every word he spoke resonated with me. He is a brilliant, accomplished man destroyed by media frenzy. His 9-9-9 plan is still the best tax plan so far. Time will tell if Romney can wrap up the nomination and win over the Tea Party and conservative wings of the Republican Party.
