ALTAMONTE SPRINGS -- A 34-year-old Altamonte Springs man has been arrested on charges of possession of child pornography for allegedly having several thousand porn images of children on his home computer, officials with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement said.

Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Orlando Regional Operations Center Cyber Crimes Task Force and the Altamonte Springs Police Department arrested Alan M. Smith, 34, of Altamonte Springs, Fla., on 10 counts of possession of child pornography.

The arrest came after FDLE and Altamonte Springs PD agents executed a search warrant at Smith's home, 582 Sabal Palms Circle, and located several thousand images of child pornography on his computer.

Smith was booked into the Seminole County Jail and his bond was set at $11,000. The investigation will be prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 18th Judicial Circuit.
