DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Democrat Joe Biden's selection of Kamala Harris as his vice presidential running mate has drawn predictable responses along party lines here in Central Florida and beyond.
"He secured a veep that can step in and do the job if needed as well as a great moment for not just Black women, but all women," said Jules Wood of Oak Hill. "We will begin to heal after the swamp has been drained of Trump and his evil team."
Horace Anderson Jr of Daytona Beach, a Republican, said, "Joe is gonna mess up the whole show."
Democrat Patrick McCallister of Palm City and formerly of Lake Helen, said, "California is locked for Democrats, so the pick indicates Biden's feeling confident he doesn't have to shore up any states."
Republican Vernon Moore of Orlando asked retorically, "Can a Biden/Harris ticket defeat no student loan payments for the rest of the year, no payroll taxes for the rest of the year, stimulus checks for the rest of the year?"
