PIERSON, Fla. -- Troopers are on scene of a double fatal crash that occurred on US 17 in Pierson early this morning.

Here is a brief synopsis of what occurred in the 5:45 a.m. incident on US 17 near Dickey Lane as described in an email media alert to Headline Surfer by Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Montes: Preliminary information has four vehicles involved and two separate crashes. One person was pronounced deceased on scene and one person died at the hospital.
