Car crashes into Votran bus on U.S. 1 in Edgewater

EDGEWATER -- Four people received minor injuries when a car rear-ended a stopped bus picking up a passenger in the northbound lane of the 100 block of North Ridgewood Avenue just after 7:30 a.m. Monday, Edgewater Fire-Rescue officials said.

Edgewater Fire-Rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene at 7:33 a.m. Both northbound lanes of US 1 were blocked while patients were assessed for injuries and leaking fluids from the vehicles were controlled.

Four patients were transported to Bert Fish Medical Center with minor injuries – two adult females and two children. The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Edgewater Police Department.
