Daytona Beach chapter of the Florida Motion Picture & Television Association to meet Wednesday at Cinematique Theater at the Bookstore Cafe, Ormond

ORMOND BEACH -- The Daytona Beach chapter of the Florida Motion Picture & Television Association will officially re-open 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Cinematique Theater at the Book Store Cafe, 410 S. Nova Road in Ormond Beach.

"I look forward to being in this new meeting place," said FMPTA President Carole Ferrill, who will be on hand to officially re-open and
re-organize the chapter.

Among those who will be attending are Paula Carroll, a past president of the Daytona chapter and life-time member of FMPTA. Gary Lester, a film-maker with Blue Heron International Pictures, also plans on attending.

"We have a large number of professionals connected with the film industry in the Daytona area, ranging from college instructors who are producing programs for the Sundance Channel to high school video teachers creating PBS programming, as well as lots of independent folks producing everything under the sun," Lester said. "We'd love to see them all eventually networking through the local FMPTA chapter."

At the opening meeting, Ferrill will also explain the Crystal Reel Awards program, sponsored each year by the FMPTA.

"I can still accept last minute entries at that meeting," Ferrill said.
