Fire consumes kitchen of Orange City restaurant

ORANGE CITY -- A fire Sunday afternoon caused extensive damage to the kitchen of an Orange City restaurant, which was unoccupied.

The 2:47 p.m. blaze at Bambino's, 921 Town Center Drive, was brought under control by firefighters from Orange City, from Orange City, Deltona, DeLand and Volusia County. What sparked the fire is unknown at this time, Deputy Fire Chief Richard Beauregard said, adding while the fire was limited to the kitchen area, several other businnesses in the strip mall that sustained light smoke damage. The state Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
