Florida Highway Patrol: Heathrow woman, 21, killed instantly after slamming her Chevy Malibu head-on into the back of a dump truck on I-4 in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A 21-year-old Heathrow woman was killed Tuesday night when she slammed her mid-size car head-on into the back of a large dump truck on Interstate 4, the Florida Highway Patrol said. 

The deceased motorist was identified on the scene as Marissa Lybarger.

Here is a synopsis of the 11:22 p.m. fatal crash as described in an email media alert by FHP Lt. Kim Montes:  was driving a 2013 Chevy Malibu behind the truck on I-4 east, between the exits to Semoran Boulevard and State Road 434, Lt. Kim Montes said.

Lybarger, was driving a 2013 Chevy Malibu behind the truck on I-4 east, between the exits to Semoran Boulevard and State Road 434. For circumstances as yet unknown, Lybarger crashed into the back of the truck The dump truck driver, a 59-year-old Orlando man, was not injured.

Montes said a traffic homicide investigation is ongoing in hopes of determining if the victim was impaired by alcohol, drugs or whether there was some kind of medical episode that caused the young woman to plow into the back of the dump truck.

The eastbound lanes of I-4 were closed for several hours because of the crash, but re-opened before early morning commuter traffic picked up.
