NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -- A "juvenile female driver" was cited by the Florida Highway Patrol for pulling out in front of a New Smyrna Beach motors officer on Flagler Avenue just before 12:30 p.m. Monday.

The driver, whose name and age were not released, operating a blue Hyundai, was turning right from Cooper Street when she pulled in front of New Smyrna Beach Police motors officer Officer Landon Jones, who was forced to brake hard before he struck the driver's side door. The young driver was ticketed by the FHP for failure to yield the right of way.

Neither she nor the motorcycle cop were injured in the accident, the FHP said.

The accident was captured on a nearby street light camera. No other details on the accident were released.

Traffic was heavy on the beachside due to Spring Break congestion - by motorists and pedestrians alike. Spring Break started over the weekend in the Sunshine State and is expected to last for two weeks.
