Historian to discuss preservation efforts June 19 at DeBary Hall

DEBARY -- Julie Scofield, historic preservation officer for Volusia County, will address local preservation efforts at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 19, at the DeBary Hall Historic Site.

Scofield will discuss preservation ordinances and the activities of the county’s Historic Preservation Board. She also will provide information about county-managed historic and archaeological sites and
ECHO (environmental, cultural, historic and outdoor) grant projects for historic properties.

Her talk is part of Lemonade Lectures, a free learning series about local history, culture and destinations. Light refreshments and lemonade will be served before the presentation, which will be in DeBary Hall's
stables.

DeBary Hall, 210 Sunrise Blvd., is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It’s owned by the state and managed by Volusia County’s Parks, Recreation and Culture Division.
