DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Once again, L. Gale Lemerand, our most generous donor, has shown his deep and abiding interest in the education of Florida's children and in the institutions which provide that education.

Daytona State is among the finest community colleges in. a state system frequently rated number one in the country.

This is due in no small measure to the continued strong support of community leaders like Mr. Lemerand who clearly deserves the gratitude and respect of all Volusians for yet another very generous donation -- this time $2 million -- in addition to $1 million he previously provided to DSC.

Naming the student center under construction in his name is an appropriate honor for a man who has given so much for the benefit of the students.
