New Year's Message from Daytona Beach Mayor Derrick Henry: 'Hope that unity will be theme that binds us as a community'

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- With the the clock ticking forward to New Year's, Mayor Derrick Henry has a clear-cut message for his tourism-driven city that is home to the World's Most Famous Beach and Daytona International Speedway.

"I would like to wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year," Henry wrote to Headline Surfer in a text message. "As we enter 2018, it is my hope that unity will be theme that binds us as a community."
