NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Police today obtained arrest warrants for the apprehension of 20-year-old Roy Deion Fudge Jr., wanted in Sunday's shooting of Marcus Peterson in the 500 block of Josie St.
"The warrants obtained charge Fudge with attempted second-and posession of a firearm by a convicted felon, said New Smyrna Beach police Sgt. Michael Brouillette. "Fudge is known to frequent New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach, Orange City and Deland. Do not attempt to detain Fudge -- he is considered armed and dangerous. Citizens should contact local law enforcement in any area where he is seen."
Fudge is described as black, 5 feet 10, 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Marcu Peterson, 37, was shot at least once in a confrontation at 554 Josie St., about a block from Ronnoc Lane.
Police responding to the 6:34 p.m. shooting, found the bleeding victim, police Sgt. Valerie Joyce said. He underwent surgery for a gunshot wound to his left shin at Bert Fish Medical Center.
Police have already made one arrest in the case. Jesse Lee McCoy, 26, was arrested Moday morning at his residence and charged with being a principal to attempted murder for allegedly giving the gun to Fudge, Joyce said.
