ORMOND BEACH, Fla. -- Bill Partington, the mayor of Ormond Beach has been appointed to serve on the National League of Cities Public Safety and Crime Prevention Federal Advocacy Committee for 2021.
Partington was elected to a one-year term and will provide strategic direction and guidance for NLC’s federal advocacy agenda and policy priorities.
“I’m honored and appreciative of this opportunity," Partington said. "Serving on this advocacy committee provides me the opportunity to represent Ormond Beach on a National level and help lead the federal discussion of public safety.”

Kathy Maness, councilmember of Lexington, SC, and president of the National League of Cities, said its advocacy committees are the voices of what’s happening on the ground in its communities.

As a committee member, Partington will play a key role among a diverse group of local leaders in shaping NLC’s policy positions and advocating on behalf of America’s cities and towns before Congress, with the administration and at home.
The Public Safety & Crime Prevention Committee is responsible for developing policy positions on issues involving crime prevention, corrections, substance abuse, municipal fire policy, juvenile justice, disaster preparedness and relief, homeland security, domestic terrorism, court systems, and gun control.
