OUR ENDORSEMENT: Matt Morgan, R, for Seminole County Commission Dis 1

Matt Morgan / Headline Surfer Headline Surfer photo illustration / Matt Morgan is shown from back in the day in his career as a 7-foot-tall professional wrestler, alongside the most famous wrestler on the planet, Hulk Hogan. And here in 2020 he's posing with the logo on the wall of the Seminole County Supervisor of Elections Office with paperwork for his campaign for District 1 Seminole County Commissioner in today's primary.

LONGWOOD, Fla. -- It's a tall order for Matt Morgan to knock off entrenched incumbent Bob Dallari for the District 1 seat on the Seminole County Commission in today's primary among the two Republicans with the winner facing Democrat Katrina Shadix in the Nov. 3 general election.

But then again, Morgan is a 7-foot tall former professional wrestler who battled the likes of Kurt AngleA.J. Styles, and the immortal Hulk Hogan in the squared circle so anything is possible, especially in the world of politics.

After all, Morgan did win election as mayor of Longwood so it's not like he doesn't have what it takes to run for office - mainly money and a gift of gab.

One of the things that surprised Headline Surfer about a polished politician like Dallari was how weak his campaign website was with almost no biographical information such as how long he's served - just a bunch of civic organizations he longs to. Two sections on the campaign website - on COVID-19 and hurricane season were far more in-depth on than Dallari on his own political career. That's a major turnoff in our book.

Dallari, of Oviedo, has been in the county seat since 2004 and is seeking his fifth term.

Headline Surfer sees Morgan having a shot at knocking out Dallari, proverbially speaking, of course, and gives him the endorsement as such.
