NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Two men were jailed after their arrests Friday night after a woman's purse was snatched during which she was battered, New Smyrna Beach police said.
Here is a synopsis of what happened in the 6:21 p.m. incident as reported by Sgt. Valerie Joyce in her police report: "Police responded to a report of a strong-armed robbery. The victim had been battered and her purse was taken from her. K-9 Officer (name) Diffin observed two males running from the area and apprehended Mr. (Michael Krol) Krol. K-9 Officer Diffin and his partner, Vigo, then located the second suspect who was hiding under a residence located at 209 Rush St. The victim sustained injuries to her mouth and was evaluated by NSB Fire Department Rescue personnel."
Dorothy Clark Buczek, 53, was treated at the scene for her injuries, Joyce said.
Michael Krol, 28, of of 307 Rush St., No. 2, was charged with strong-armed robbery. John Kunze, 22, of 2484 Burnell Court, was charged with being a principal to strong-armed robbery. Both were transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail.
The purse snatching occurred at 307 Rush St., Apt. No. 3, police said.
