Rogue Sheriff Mike Chitwood is going to be brought into the Sunshine

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- No politician is going to define who we are and that includes Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood - the epitome of a power-hungry, self-serving misogynist, liar and cheater who continues to use his elected office for personal gain.

Chitwood, elected as sheriff in 2016 after a 10-year-run ass Daytona Beach's top cop (in title only) continues to compromise the integrity of the Volusia County Sheriff's Office and hampers its ability to protect and serve. That includes the opioid crisis. Volusia County needs a law enforcement leader -- not a judgmental, name-calling political-armchair quarterback who needs to be brought into the Sunshine. That is our new mission. Chitwood dismisses this award-winning reporter as a "blogger" not worthy of the courtesies extended mainstream media. That's because he can't control the reporting here.

It's something he has resisted for six years now since Headline Surfer won two awards that year for an investigative story on his promotion of a patrol supervisor to captain despite longstanding allegations of harassment of women cops.
