SANFORD, Fla. -- The Seminole County Office of Economic Development and Tourism recently earned accreditation for the first time from the globally recognized Destination Marketing Accreditation Program.
Seminole County is nestled in the outskirts of the metro Orlando tourism market, within a 30-minute drive downtown along the Interstate 4 corridor to Disney and the major attractions, but far enough away for families vacationers here to enjoy the scenic offerings - from boating to hiking or a day at the Sanford Zoo. And still, it's only a 45-minute drive east on I-4 to the beaches in Daytona and New Smyrna.
"This recognizes Seminole County's excellence in the destination marketing and management industry," Seminole County Commissioner Amy Lockhart said, adding, "This is the first time Seminole County has earned this distinctive accreditation, which will be in place for the next five years."
