As a small business owner for more than 30 years, I understand that as Central Florida’s businesses and families tighten their belts in the economic downturn, it is vital to ensure that taxpayer dollars are spent sensibly.
That is why I have cosponsored, introduced and helped to pass legislation that makes the federal government more fiscally responsible and accountable to its citizens. But I want to hear from you on this important issue. Please take our fiscal responsibility survey below and share your thoughts.

a. It is one of the most important issues today b. It’s important, but we have larger problems to tackle c. It’s not really that important d. Unsure2) How should Congress become more fiscally responsible?
a. By eliminating the automatic pay raise for members of Congress b. By adhering to a strict budget to reduce the deficit c. By creating an independent commission to set standards for Congress to act on the national debt d. All of the above
3) How should the remainder of the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) Wall Street bailout funds be used?
a. To pay down the national debt b. For job creation, even if it increases the budget deficit in the short term4) Should Congress enact PAY-GO legislation that would require new policies that expand entitlement spending or reduce revenues to be offset by savings elsewhere in the budget?
a. Yes, Congress should have to live within a budget b. No, it is not necessary5) Do you think the government should spend more money now on legislation to help create jobs, even if it means making the budget deficit significantly worse in the short-term, or should the government forgo such an effort and focus on reducing the deficit and lowering the national debt?
a. Spend more now to create jobs, even if it increases the deficit in the short term b. Do not pass additional legislation to help create jobs, and focus on reducing the budget deficit and national debt c. OtherThank you for taking the time to answer these questions.
