Three arrested in Deltona home invasion

DELTONA -- An armed home invasion in Deltona resulted in several shots being fired early Sunday morning and several arrests being made, Volusia Sheriff's spokesman Brandon Haught reported.

Sheriff’s deputies found the suspect vehicle in a matter of minutes, wrecked the vehicle about six miles south of the robbery scene. Shortly thereafter deputies arrested three suspects charging them with the home invasion.

Taken into custody were:

# Brandon Prather, 17, charged with home invasion with a firearm, aggravated battery, and fleeing and eluding. The investigation so far indicates that Prather was the one who pistol-whipped homeowner Julio Blanco, and he was the driver of the getaway vehicle. Prather was released from the hospital after treatment this morning and is currently being interviewed by investigators.

# Patrick Lauby, 33, is still at Halifax Health Medical Center being treated for his non life-threatening gunshot wound. He is being charged with home invasion and aggravated assault.

# Adam Salgado, 30, is still being interviewed by investigators and is charged with home invasion.

he investigation so far indicates that the two 16-year-old girls who were in the getaway vehicle when it crashed did not go into the victims’ home during the home invasion. They are not being charged and were released to their parents, Haught said.
