NSB library offers free computer classes

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Whether you’re trying to navigate the Internet or still looking for the computer’s on/off switch, the New Smyrna Beach Regional Library has beginner computer classes that can help you find your way, said Pat Kuehn, Volusia County spokeswoman.

A Computer Basics class will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 4. This class is for people with little or no computer experience who want to
learn about the components of a computer and get acquainted with terminology. Participants will explore some of the functions and features of the Windows operating system.

Internet Basics will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 11. Attendees will learn about the Internet and become familiar with terminology. They also will acquire basic skills to access and navigate web sites, including search engines and online directories.

Discover everything you always wanted to know about e-mail at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 18. Participants will learn how to get a free e-mail address, compose e-mails, and add pictures and documents to their e-mails.

Microsoft Word 2003 Basics - offered at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 25 - will teach the fundamentals of using Microsoft Word. Topics will include menus, toolbars, wizards, spell-check, copy, cut, paste, printing, saving Word art and adding graphics.
