
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Computer knowledge is just a click away at the New Smyrna Beach Regional Library. Check out the free computer classes available in May:
• Internet Basics will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 6. Attendees will learn about the Internet and become familiar with terminology. They will also acquire basic skills to access and navigate web sites, search engines and online directories.
• Computer Basics - offered at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 13 - is designed for beginners who want to learn about the physical components of a computer and get acquainted with terminology. Participants also will explore some of the functions and features of the Windows operating system.
• Internet Searching will start at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 20. The instructor will explain the web browser Microsoft Internet Explorer and features such as favorites, homepage, font size and Internet options.
• Microsoft Word 2003 will be offered at 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 27. Attendees will learn the fundamentals of using the Microsoft word processing program. Topics include menus and toolbars, wizards, spell-check, copy/cut/paste, printing, saving Word art, and adding graphics.
