Theresa Perreault, 22, of Edgewater, a bartender at Pub 44, shows off her assets, far left. Theresa poses with her big sister, April Perreault, 25, also a bartender. In the smaller photo, on top, countless bikes are packed in like sardines in the Pub 44 parking lot. Above, a live rock and roll band performs with large Budweiser ads in the forefront.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Pub 44 bartender Theresa Perreault, 22, was asked to pose for cameras by bikers more than twice her age almost as much as she was passing out bottles of Buds for the green stuff. Welcome to Biketoberfest, Pub 44 style, where bikers, babes and booze, are a winning combination, especially in these trying economic times.

Perreault did her share to encourage patrons to stop by her bar station on the Pub's grounds. Dressed in leather thigh-high boots, chaps, a black T-shirt and white shorts that barely covered her behind with the slogan "It's all about the ride," she was plenty busy serving up beers and posing for pictures.

"It's been a good Friday and Saturday," she said. "Thursday was slow."

Perreault had no problem with her mode of dress, or lack thereof, explaining it was appropriate for the environment she was in. Nobody had an argument with that.

Asked what kind of shorts she was sporting, Perreault reponded they were "boy shorts, basically underwear."

Ok...

Perreault said she got quite a few stares when she stopped at a Payless Shoes sore on her way into work.

"I wanyed to get some comfortable shoes and I was trying to apologize for the way I was dressed, but everyone kept saying, 'Oh know, you are fine.' They thought I was cute."

Ah, yeah...

"I've been (posing) for a lot of pictures and selling beer," she said, and her stream of biker customers -- men and women alike -- were non-stop, especially when big sister, April Perreault, 25, jumped out of her booth to give little sister a loving hug.

"We are best friends," the older sister said, wrapping her arms around her sister, pointing out that besides tending bar, they are both audit supervisors. With the long embrace, the cameras flashed incessantly.

So even with a recession, Pub 44 had a winning recipe for success during Biketoberfest 2009: Bikers, babes and beer.

You get the picture...

LOWEST AD RATES
# Advertising is welcomed and appreciated to keep greater New Smyrna Beach's only daily on-line newspaper going. We recognize that with the recession, advertising dollars are limited, which is why we have the lowest rates of all media outlets serving this community and a powerful following in the community as demonstrated by the "hits" in excess of 1,200 daily on NSBNEWS.net, your around the clock Internet source "where journalism lives."
