Joan Clark Roberts

Funeral service for Joan C. Roberts, 82, of Edgewater, who passed away quietly July 11, 2010 after a lengthy illness, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 17 at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach chapel, with Chaplain Mark Spivey, Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, officiating. Burial will follow at Sea Pines Memorial Gardens, Edgewater.

Calling hours will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Born in Waterbury, Connecticut on September 26, 1927, she graduated from Hamden High School in 1944. Joan married Raymond DelGreco, had 3 sons, and became a bookkeeper. She was active in local and national politics as a member of the League of Women Voters. Moving to Miami in 1961, she remarried in 1971 to Howard Roberts. They were active bowlers and attended many National Championships. Traveling to foreign countries was also a favorite activity. Joan was a very loving, caring, and generous wife, mother and grandmother, always there to help family and friends alike.

She will be greatly missed and her memory will be cherished by many, including her 3 sons,Richard DelGreco and wife Sue, Raymond DelGreco and wife Lonnie, and David DelGreco and wife Nancy; 2 step children, Larry Roberts and wife Janet, and Katherine Willis; her sister, Anita; 2 brothers, Herbert and Robert; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ellery and Elsie Clark, and husband, Howard.
