DAYTONA BEACH -- James Tager may be a rookie principal at New Smyrna Beach High School, but he already knew many of the 400 graduates from their four years together at the middle school where he was also principal.
NSBNews.net interviewed Tager on video camera immediately after Saturday's graduation at the Ocean Center attended by more than 4,000 parents, extended family members and friends.
Tager showed respect to those at the head of the class and those who raised them, introducing the parents of Class President Imran Lufi, Salutatorian Drew Walker and Valedictorian Ericka Kirkpatrick. He asked the sets of parents to please stand and be recognized publicly before each of the trio presented their addresses to the class.
Tager also showed class, crediting New Smyrna Beach High School's "A School" rating not to himself, but his staff, teachers, the students themselves and their parents.
