ORLANDO, Fla. -- This is one of those crazy weekends where the carnage is on oh so real and when the cops are clearly on the front lines.

Saturday night's shooting death of Christina Grimmie -- perhaps the most shocking because of the innocense of her visit to Orlando has now been displaced by violence taking far more lives -- the mass shooting in a gay club before the Sunday sunsrise as the multi-colored overhead lights from dozens of Orlando cops cars, as well as back-up support from the Orange County Sheriff's Office lit up the night sky.

Orlandso police have confirmed at least 20 deaths in the night club in what has been described as an "act of domestic terrorism."

The bloodshed began at the Pulse nightclub just before closing with one such alert posted frantically in social media that read: "Everyone get out of pulse and keep running!" Orlando cops confirmed the gunman in the club was killed.

The early morning scene outside the Pulse nightclub looks like a military war zone with an Orlando SWAT team, in the aftermath of a 2 a.m,. mass shooting inside the gay club.

Even as cops arrived on scene, the sound of shots being fired could be heard as patrons lirterally ran for their their lives from thne barrage of live rounds continuing inside the Pulse.

One such patron described what happened inside the Pulse:

"I was there," said an emphatic Ricardo J. Negron Almodovar of Orlando, who calls Yauco, Puerto Rico home. "(The) shooter opened fire at around 2 a.m. People on the dance floor and bar got down on the floor and some of us who were near the bar and back exit managed to go out through the outdoor area and just ran. I am safely home and hoping everyone gets home safely as well."
