MAITLAND, Fla -- A small plane made an emergency landing during the height of Thursday evening's commuter rush on Interstate 4 just north of Orlando, clipping a car in the process, cops said.
Here is a synopsis of what occured in the 5:30 p.m. incident as reported by Maitland police: The plane made the emergency landing near the on-ramp from Maitland Boulevard to I-4 westbound, but not before it clipped a passing car in the landing.
The pilot of the two-seat Cherokee, Angel Garcia, reported that the aircraft ran out of fuel while he was en route to Orlando Executive Airport, forcing him to land the plane.
No injuries were reported.
