DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- We're all just trying to get through each day in this COVID-19 pandemic.
For Kelly Powers Ferguson, a realtor who has called greater Daytona Beach home since 1983, just getting through this morning was quite a frustrating experience - a parade of horribles, you could say.
Nothing she could not overcome, mind you, but frustrating nonetheless: A situation that would have many of us going "Oh my God" and "ewww!"
So here goes Ferguson's tale of woe as described so eloquently on her Facebook page:
Just now, I went to pick up 'poop' for the yard man, and I used a bag that apparently had a big hole in it. When (I) flipped it around, of course, I flung the poop on myself and got it on my hand.
Then, walking back, I immediately walked through a spider web and accidentally wiped my face with the poop hand.
Then I promptly walked to the trash can, which is at the street today, in my ugly, gross pajamas and saw all my neighbors before I realized how I looked... I DID wash my hands and face before typing this, however.
I hope this is not a sign of how my day is gonna go. Please, no one call me and tell me any bad news today LOL. Wishing you all a better day !!!
Ferguson's plight sounds like one of those dramatic plots from a 1970s Al Pacino action movie. Two readily come to mind: "And Justice For All" and "Dog Day Afternoon," but in a less violent sort of way.
Ferguson's post drew more than 40 comments supportive of her situation.
Susan Blair Howard pointed out that "even the Queen gets poop on her - the corgis have always had free 'reign' at the palace....
Naomi D'Antonio chimed in with "You got it all out of your system this morning. It’s going to be an amazing day from here on!!"
Fay Theos offered a theory: "Maybe poop on your hands and face will curtail the spread of Coronavirus."
And Alexis Lenssen couldn't resist this analogy: "Poop happens but you are still a queen."
Erin McKeown took the analogy a step further: "I think from now on when I have a bad morning I'm going to tell myself 'At least I don't have poop on my face.'"
