NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -- A little after 5 o'clock this evening, a 22 year old woman from Sanford was on her surfboard in chest deep water when she was bitten on the foot by a shark in the 4600 block South.
"The shark was not seen," Volusia Beach Safety Capt. Tamra Malpurs told Headline Surfer in an email media alert. "Her injuries are non-life-threatening and she was not transported to the hospital by ambulance."

This is the fourth shark bite in Volusia County so far this year.
