DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- A resident of an apartment on North Street was arrested for the 2nd time in four months in August for allegedly using her place to sell drugs.

Kelly C. Cooke, 45, was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail on two felony counts of keeping a public nuisance structure for drug activity and possession of fentanyl along with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia after DBPD’s Problem Oriented PolicingUnit entered her dwelling at 135 North St., Apt. 2 on Aug. 31.

Based on numerous tips of suspected drug dealing at the residence, cops obtained a search warrant before the raid, which took place at 11:20 a.m. It was the second time in 2021 that investigators have gone that route with her, according to DBPD Capt. Scott Lee.

“Our Special Investigations Unit entered her apartment last May and found a drug distribution operation inside along with over 2 grams of crack cocaine and over $2,000 in cash,” Lee noted. “Clearly, she hasn’t learned her lesson because we found her doing the same thing again. Maybe now it’ll sink in.”

Cooke bonded out of jail on Oct. 5.
