NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. -- Mostly sunny skies this Sunday afternoon will continue through the early part of the week before the possibility of showers on Thursday before returning to sunny skies before the weekend.

Here is the National Weather Service forecast for Central Florida: There is a 10 percent chance of showers after 5 p.m. It will be mostly sunny, with a high near 88. The south wind will be around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tonight​​​​​: A 20 percent chance of showers before 10 pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Monday​​​​​: A 10 percent chance of showers after 2 pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89. South southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Monday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 am. Mostly cloudy, with a low of around 61. Southwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. The chance of precipitation is 70%.

Tuesday: Showers are likely, mainly before 8 a.m. It will be partly sunny, with a high near 73. The north wind will be around 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 60%. Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 59. The north-northeast wind will be around 10 mph.

Wednesday: A 20 percent chance of showers after 2 pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. North northeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Wednesday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers before 2 am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 63. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Thursday: A slight chance of showers between 8 am and 2 pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. East-northeast wind around 10 mph. The chance of precipitation is 20%. Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 60. East-northeast wind around 5 mph.
