Beautiful weather today at the World's Most Famous Beach in Daytona draws crowd

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The World's Most Famous Beach in Daytona and other beaches along the Volusia County shoreline are expected to be packed on this Sunday afternoon just as it was to open the weekend, Beach Safety officials said.

Bike Week: 1 death so far during 10-day motorycyle rally in greater Daytona Beach heading into final weekend

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- With only one biker fatality on Monday, the 2018 Bike Week motorcycle rally has been a fun-fiulled adventure heading into the final weekend of the 10-day event.

So far, a motorcyclist from New York killed in Holly Hill remains the lone roadway fatality.

The wreck at Flomich and State avenues took place at 8:10 p.m., according to a report from Florida Highway Patrol. The rider, identified Wednesday as 54-year-old David Remchuck of Hornell, NY, was thrown from his 2005 Harley-Davidson after he struck a utility pole while westbound on Flomich.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The focus on alleged cowardice of at least the assigned school resource officer and possibly three additional depiuties accused of not going into the building to confront the active shooter has led to state GOP lawmakers calling for Broward County Sheriff Scott Isreal's resignation and prompting Gov. Rick Scott to direct the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to investigate the allegations.
