Charles A. Hyde, Sr., 80, of New Smyrna Beach, A U.S. Army veteran, plumber by trade and survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty, and three children, died Tuesday, July 21, 2009.
Laura Peace Lawson, 42, of Edgewater, a bank teller, survived by her husband of one year, Craig Lawson, and her daughter, Alexis, died Saturday, July 18, 2009.
Albert G. Geiger, Jr, 82, of New Smyrna Beach, a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy who received several medals for his valor during World War II, including the Victory Medal, died June 6, 2009.

Courtesy photo/Volusia Jail mug. Robert C. Young, 31, of Edgewater, a convicted felon recently released from prison, has been arrested on a warrant charging him with having unlawful sex with a child. The victim, bore his child at the age of 16, two years after Young allegedly began having sex with her. In a police report, the victim's mother states that Young knew he was the father of her teenage girl's baby, but he didn't want his name listed as the father on the birth certificate or for the young Oak Hill mother to obtain food stamps because he didn't want the authorities to know he had sex with a minor.
