Thelma Mabel Sepessy, 93, of New Smyrna Beach, an avid seamstress, who spent half the year here and the other half in New Hampshire and had 10 great grandchildren among her youngest survivors, died Thursday, July 30, 2009.
Teri Paul Cahill, 55, of New Smyrna Beach, who retired as owner of T Paul Hair Design in New Smyrna Beach and survived by her husband, Stephen, and four children, died Sunday, July 26, 2009.

When my wife and I drove up to Bruce Rossmeyer's Harley-Davidson on State Road 44 in New Smyrna Beach to take a photo of his business as part of the news on his untimely death, I couldn't help but notice that the "D" in Davidson was flickering among the partially burnt-out lighting. At that moment, I closed my eyes and said a prayer for his family.
New Smyrna Beach Mayor Sally Mackay said it best in describing the Harley-Davidson motorcycle mogul's "loss as New Smyrna Beach's loss."
DAYTONA BEACH -- A convicted felon is back in jail after brawling with a convenience store clerk Thursday night over $1.03 worth of gas, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.
The incident, which took place at about 10:45 p.m. at a Circle K on South Nova Road near Daytona Beach, was witnessed by a customer who called 911 to report the altercation.
"We just pulled up and he grabbed one of the car squeegees and went after the guy working in the store," the witness told a Volusia
County Sheriff's Office dispatcher. "I think he was screaming about his money or something."
NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A 20-year-old New Smyrna Beach man was killed Thursday night in a traffic accident in Flagler County after he lost control of his vehicle and struck another vehicle before being ejected, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
Aaron Isaac Wyman lost control of his vehicle at 11:40 p.m. on Rymfire Drive, just west of Rae Drive, while eastbound around a curve, spinning counrt-clockwise and striking a westbound car driven by Carol Corbin, 53, of Daytona Beach, the FHP said.
EDGEWATER -- An apparent electrical fire earlier today damaged R&R Custom Cabinets of Volusia County.
The 9 a.m. fire at 2747 Guava Drive was brought under control a short time later by Edgewater firefighters and is being investigated by the Fire Marshall's Office.

Funeral arrangements are set for Bruce Rossmeyer, owner of Bruce Rossmeyer's New Smyrna Harley-Davidson on State Road 44 in New Smyrna Beach and 14 other dealerships in five states, who died Thursday in a motorcycle accident in Wyoming while on his way to the big biker rally in Sturgis, S.D.
