Eric K. Neitzke has lived life with his motto: "Wisdom is knowledge tempered by experience." While many candidates use political slogans that ring hollow beyond the phrase, he has demonstrated this consistently in 28-plus years of service as an attorney, which is why NSBNEWS.net endorses Neitzke for Circuit Court Judge (Group 10) in Tuesday's primary.

Memorial service for Walter Furman Schaeffer, age 73, of New Smyrna Beach, who died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Ocean View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, New Smyrna Beach, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 28 at Hospice of Volusia/Flagler Care Center, Edgewater, with Chaplain Andrew Pollock, officiating.

Sheriff's Office: Restaurant robbed near Ormond Beach

ORMOND BEACH -- The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is investigating an armed robbery of a fast food restaurant near Ormond Beach early Monday morning, an agency spokesman said.

Two employees were in the store after the lobby had closed when a man armed with a gun entered and demanded cash. There were no shots fired or any injuries. Deputies responded within 30 seconds of receiving the 911 call. Despite a thorough search with a K-9, the robber got away.
