Amber Alert issued for missing Orange County girl, 17 / Headline Surfer®

ORLANDO -- An Amber Alert was issued this morning for a 17-year-old Orange County girl first reported missing on Monday and last seen in the 2700 block of Lake Stanley Road in Orlando.

She has long dark hair, but may have cut it and she may be headed up to Jacksonville. If you spot her, based on the description in the image above, please call 9-1-1.

Charles Freeman has accomplished quite a bit in the front office with the Orlando Magic in his two decades with the NBA franchise. And on thishot summer Friday, he's been promoted to chief operating officer.

ORLANDO, Fla.-- The NBA's Orlando Magic have promoted Charles Freeman, who is entering his 20th season with the team, to chief operating officer, CEO Alex Martins announced today.

Martins also announced the promotion of Michael Forde to executive vice president of sales and Anthony Perez to executive vice president of strategy. Freeman's responsibilities include management and oversight of ticket sales, services and operations; premium sales, client services, corporate partnerships, marketing, arena operations and retail. Freeman was previously promoted to chief revenue officer in July 2012. 

“Charlie has provided great strategic leadership and vision to the Orlando Magic and we look forward to his continued expertise in regard to the business operation of our organization,” Chief Executive Officer Alex Martins said in a prepared statement to HeadlineSurfer.com and other Central Florida media outlets. “From overseeing the design, construction and development of the Amway Center for the Magic to implementing business initiatives, his experience and expertise will continue to be keys for the Magic in our quest to be world champions on and off the court.”

Troopers reconstruct a hit-and-run scenario on the hood of a patrol vehicle at the Grandview Pointe Apartments in Orlando where a 3-year-old girl was struck by a car, according to her mother. The toddler died at the hospital. A 1-year-old boy was killed in an unrelated mishap 12 hours later involving an SUV backing out of a driveway on nearby Mosshart Lane.

ORLANDO -- Orange County Sheriff's investigators this morning arrested the man they said shot and killed his live-in girlfriend in cold blood right in front of her two small children earlier this month -- the youngest he is the father to.

John DeJesus, 28, was presented before a judge just before noon where he was ordered remanded to the Orange County Jail on a no-bond status, pending a formal arraignment to answer to the charge of first-degree murder.
