OVIEDO -- Gov. Rick Scott on Monday appointed Oviedo resident Richard Hanas to a vacant seat on the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Hanas, 65, is the senior vice president of A. Duda & Sons Inc. He fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term that began Monday and ends Aug. 1, 2017.

OVIEDO -- Mayor Dominic Persampiere and Council member Steve Henken have been returned to their respective seats in this Seminole County city because they had no opponents when qualifying ended.
Though he had no opposition, Persampiere told reporters after Friday's qualifying ended, he's "humbled" nonetheless to be allowed to continue serving Oviedo.
