This year we celebrate once again the anniversary of our declaration of independence from the British Empire. 2011 is the 235th time we have marked July 4th and on Monday, as we mark it again we are far and away the richest and most powerful nation the world has ever seen.

DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Fla. -- In my last Guidepost, I very strongly urged the GOP to demand draconian spending cuts as the best means of saving our nation from bankruptcy and the world from a financial crash which could dwarf that of 2008, or even 1929.

In other words, government spending must be drastically reduced. Yet the Obama Administration continues to spend as if there were no end of money, driving our economy toward bankruptcy and the dollar toward collapse.
