The first question most people ask when they find I’ve moved to Ponce Inlet is, “Can you see the Lighthouse?”

While I am just over a quarter mile away, my Lighthouse view is obliterated by tall trees.
So to appease the curious, I walked around the house, and short of standing on the roof, I found one tiny section of the front yard where I could see the light atop the Lighthouse.
It is particularly engaging at night when the little light whirls around. Barring finding that magic spot in the front yard, anyone visiting me and expecting to see the entire Lighthouse will have to take a walk.
If they don’t feel the urge, I discovered the next best way to see it: By making a painting it. Yes, I painted it!
There’s something very romantic about living near the Lighthouse and while I love having it right in my own backyard – make that front yard – I felt helpless in being unable to alter the view. So I painted it, not just once, but twice – so far.

Digital painting is my thing. I paint people and things, and I sell them. The problem is everyone else it seems paints the Lighthouse. The bigger problem is I have become obsessed enough with it that I’ve actually painted two and started a third.
My husband, who already felt as though he was being choked by my other canvasses, is now feeling more than a little claustrophobic at the thought of being surrounded by lighthouses. Anyone want to buy a painting of a lighthouse?
