EDGEWATER -- I took my family on a ride to Titusville to visit my in-laws just before the storms hit early Sunday afternoon, pelting us with marble-sized hail.

Tearing through the cloudy skies were the Thunderbirds of the U.S. Airforce thrilling the crowd for the TiCo Warbird Annual Airshow.

Four jets flew low to the ground probably to be seen below the dark clouds.

Warnings of severe storms racing across the state from northwest to the southeastern part of the Florida peninsula were repeated on television, online and on the NOAA radio.

The booming of the thunder came so soon after the jets screamed past us that we could not hear the difference between the two sounds. Very dark horizons on the western part of the Titusville sky were brought on by frequent flashes of lightning.

Winds picked up suddenly and ripped small branches and leaves off trees. Rain poured sideways across the front yard, so we ran to the back porch in time to see hail dropping from the sky.

Angela was excited to see frozen precipitation in Florida during the month of March. Happy spring, summer storms are a few months away.
