67. Murderous rampage: Port Orange man kills own son and a camper at RV park in Deerfield Beach before killing himself

William DeJesus
William DeJesus, 41, of 509 Newton Road, Port Orange drove his family down to Broward County in his red Ford Mustang in February, where he shot and killed an elderly Candian tourist he didn't know before he holed up in the victim's RV and tried to wipe out his whole family by stabbing his wife and two sons, killing one of them and himself in the process.

PORT ORANGE -- The "why" is not always defined when it comes to a murderous rampage. Such is the case of a Port Orange man who shot and killed a Canadian tourist at an RV Park in Deerfield Beach on Feb. 9, then stabbed his own autistic son to death, tried to do the same to his wife and younger son before killing himself with a knife.

The murderous rampage comes in at No. 67 in Headline Surfer's countdown of the top 100 local stories of 2012.

While the why is not known and may never be, the "who" is William DeJesus, the man behind the bloodshed that including the slaying of his 9-year-son and critically wounded his wife and their 7-year-old son, before fatally turning a knife on himself, the Broward County Sheriff's Office said.
