SANFORD, Fla. -- A man who was cash-strapped offered an undercover woman police officer posing as a prostitute a chicken dinner and $3 in exchange for sex during a sting in early November, Sanford cop said.
Of the seven men arrested in the sex sting, the offer by 32-year-old Steven Torres of Melbourne was the lone barter offer leading to his arrest for solicitation of sex, police said.
The chicken for sex offer comes in at No. 80 in the HeadlineSurfer.com countdown of the top 100 local stories of 2014.

The others arrested in the prosecution sting by Sanford cops were as follows:
• Ronald Barker, 67, Winter Springs;
• Christopher Butler, 34, DeBary;
• Tarance Carr, 45, Sanford;
• Troy Cuff, 38, Ocoee;
• Thomas Ham, 57, Lake Mary;
• Antonio Perez Toma, 36, Sanford.
"This sting is part of the Sanford Police Department's ongoing commitment to improve the quality of life for Sanford residents by going after not only those who sell sex but those who solicit sex as well," Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith said.
